GRADUATION SPEECH

From the first time that I walked into Hynes on the first day, all the way to when I walk out of Golf the last time, this school district has taught me so much about not just education, but also about myself.

Hynes was an amazing time for me, everything was so easy, fun, and all of the teachers were so great. My favorite part of Hynes was definitely all of the teachers, they made my life so much more fun. I loved all of my teacher, but I would like to talk about 2 of my teachers.

Firstly, Ms. Reiner. Ms. Reiner is probably one of the sweetest people. She made me so excited to go to 1st grade every day, and I even loved hanging out with her out of class, like in lunch bunches with Kylie.

The second teacher who I would like to talk about is Mrs. Mlynski. Mrs. Mlynski made my last year at Hynes so much fun, and she helped us get prepared for Golf. I love Mrs. Mlynski so much because, she was always so positive, and she was always so excited to teach for us.

Once I finally graduated Hynes, I moved onto golf.

Fifth through seventh grade changed me a lot in different ways. I became smarter about myself, but I still made mistakes. I learned a lot over those three years, but that doesn't even compare to 8th grade.

Wow, eighth grade. I can't even express with words how much I loved eighth grade. Eighth grade was the best year out of all 9 years that I have been in this district, so I would like to thank all of my teachers. My teachers taught me so, so much, but my class did too.

I have been with the same class for around 5 years now. Our class has an indescribable bond. We have too many crazy jokes, and distorted stories, so I would like to thank them for making me laugh constantly, and just being themselves daily.

Lastly, I would want to thank all of my 8th grade teachers. Every single one of my teachers has done so much for me, and I'm so grateful for that. Mrs. Joyner, Mrs. Maldonado, Mrs. Conejo, Mr. Carris, Mr. Carro, Mr. Atwood, Mrs. Vojak, Mrs. Brown, Ms. Gould, and Ms. Boyle, thank you for all that you'd have done for me, thank you Golf for giving me the best experience, and thank you to everyone else who was in my life at Golf.

DEAR 5TH GRADE ME.

Firstly, why were you so annoying?

I guess that all 5th graders think that they're "cool" because they just entered middle school, but really, why? You were loud and annoying and you never used your mind. I wish that you just stopped for a minute, and thought about it for a second.

You were so young.

Oh, you were. You thought that the world was an easy place and that it revolved around you. I wish that you realized that the world is a hard place and it's going to take a lot to be successful and that you can't do whatever you want.

I don't have very much to say to you, but the last thing that I would like to say is, I'm glad I'm not like you anymore.

ENDINGS AND BEGINNINGS

As you may know.. The year is about to end.

I have been in the same school for 9 years, and it's ending in around 3 weeks.

So, the end of the year. Firstly we have community hour(s). So far I have done 40 minutes out of the hour that I'm supposed to do, and I'm going to do the last 20 minutes on Tuesday. Next, our proficiency test. A proficiency test is a test that we have for math class where it's everything that we have learned in math class for the past 2 years, but our math teacher said it's easy. After our proficiency test, we have Camp MacLean. I already wrote about camp one of my first posts, but basically, it is an overnight camp where we do lot's of fun activities, and I'm very excited to go. After camp is graduation rehersal, finals for all subjects, and then the last day of school. Finally.

After school, I just have more school. Summer school. I'm not failing any classes or anything, I actually have straight A's, but I am doing optional summer school to get it out of the way so I don't have to do it during the school year, and those classes are health and public speaking. Yes, I know, two awful classes, but it will just make my life easier during the year.

I honestly can't believe all of this is happening now.

IT'S COMPLICATED

Wow. I know that it's only eighth grade, but wow.

I don't really know how I feel about graduation. I have been with the same around 70 people my whole life, and that's about to change in around two months.

Yes, I'm excited to start at a new school. More people to be around, clubs, sports, and everything else at Niles North. Being in a small school is hard because sometimes when you want to meet new people, you can't because you already know everyone, but at the same time, I have made a lot of great friends. Being with the same 21 people in my class 7 hours a day makes you very close to them, which leads me to my other side.

No, I'm scared to go to Niles North. Like I was saying before, I've been with the same people for 9 years. New people every day will be hard. Our class is so much fun because we have so many bonding moments as a class, and when you're with strangers every period, it won't be the same.

Back to graduation. On the last day of school, it's going to say goodbye. Not just to our grade, to our whole school. The last couple of weeks is also going to be hard. Finals, proficiency test, graduation, service hours, projects, papers, and the graduation itself. There's a lot of stuff to do before we graduate.

Overall, I know that graduating is going to be a lot of work, but it will be worth it, and I'm excited for the new school.

FIJI

Hmm.. Okay, I've got it.

Since we are allowed to talk about anything in this week's blog, I would like to write about a place in the world that I would like to visit.

I think that the best place in the world to visit is probably Figi. Figi is a country with over 300 islands, in the South Pacific. I think that Fiji is so great because it is so beautiful. Fiji is mainly known for its beaches. The beaches in Fiji are simply just breathtaking. I love beaches, I think that they are the most fun place to be (and I can get tan which is VERY RARE), and they just make vacations so much more fun.

On the beaches and near the beaches, there are beach houses. Spending a vacation in a beach house on the because is a lot better than spending it a hotel. I don't usually like hotels, I think that they take away the point of a vacation because you can't access the beach easily.

Living in Fiji would probably get old, but staying on a vacation for a week definitely wouldn't.

TRIBUTE?

Usually, tributes are for dead people, but thankfully no one in my life has died yet, so I will make a tribute for an alive person who hopefully will stay alive for a long time.

Many of my friends came and left throughout the years, but one particular friend never did. Not just a friend, more of a best friend. We've been through mostly ups, some downs, and we're just as close, maybe even closer, after around 5 whole years.

There are lots and lots of memories. From falling off a hoverboard, to falling on a cheese stick, to giving me a black eye, to throwing little girls over fences because their fence wouldn't open during extremely dangerous weather. :)

I think that the main reason that I wrote a tribute to my friend is because, even when I don't want to smile she makes me smile, and I can always be myself around her.

So here is my tribute to Jessica, my best friend, who is not dead, and hopefully I won't have to write one for someone who is dead for a long time.
